Anyone know the length of the forestay on the 19ft seawych ?

I have measured many things but not the forestay.

Best estimate, by scaling from the drawing that came with the building instructions, is 21 ft including the bottle screw but Id allow just a tad more in case thats wrong

Well worth upgrading to 4mm IMHO

Maybe someone in the SWOA will know if you post the question on the owners forum

Thanks Vic Iv just bought a semi project wych and the complete forestay is missing although the the mast is erect !!. Iv temporarily used the main halyard to hold things together .looking at the sail it was a reefing stay . Sooooo if you know anyone who has one for sale I'm looking .

The original Sea Wych reefing spar was a "Cooney". It was not very good because the halyard retuned down the spar with the inevitable bowstring effect .

If I wanted to replace one I would probably do so with a Plastimo one.

Sometimes there is stuff advertised in the magazine, but not at present.

We have records from one rigged of 6480 which is pin to pin and 4mm. Guessing length will depend on mast and if original. Hope this helps.
