hi guys im thinking of replacing the engine on my seaward 23 for something with more power,i have a single ford just now which only does about 8 knots . is there a direct replacement unit that will fit in the same space? many thanks,

some are fitted with Yanmar 4JH4, 110hp engines, so I guess they fit


although you may find it cheaper and quicker to sell yours and buy one with the larger engines...

As an example this on had the 160hp Yanmar 4LH-hte, claims 16kt cruise and 22kt top, which sounds unlikely.

It was either sold or removed from sale by the way - nice boat imo

Is there a turbo option of the engine you have? Presuming it is NA. You will probably need a different prop and maybe shaft too if you up the power much.

the engine I have is a ford 1.8d looks like the one in a ford escort / connect non turbo can I fit a turbo to this engine?
