Hi guys,

I'm looking for a few new books to read and what I want are the following.

(1) Any tales of long term survival adrift in liferafts. I've got two but there must be lots!

(2) Who was the fellow who claimed to be sailing around the world but actually was hiding away in south america sending false radio reports about his progress. Some time round the Knox Johnson Era. There must be a book about that.

(3) Any other sailing books that anyone feels really are a MUST read!

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Donald Crowhurst was the unfortunate man. RKJ gave his winnings to DC's family to help them out the huge black hole.

The Strange Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst (1970) by Nicholas Tomalin

His boat is still ashore in Jamaica

For liferaft survival, start with Alain Bombard, who drifted across the Atlantic surviving on what he caught.
The Voyage of the Heretique, Simon and Schuster (1953)
The Bombard Story (1955)

There's also another one about a couple who survivid 3 months adrift in the Pacific. Senior moment, sorry.
