Searching for a boat called Gentian

Glad that I was able to help. When i saw the photo I thought that her lines were very like the one at Mylor that I have often admired. The wheelhouse alteration made sense too. If I go down to MYH I will hunt her out and take some photos.

I rang Mylor this morning and they passed my details on to the owner who kindly rang me. We chatted for quite some time. It turns out she now belongs to the grandson of the gentleman my father sold her to although there were several owners in between. It’s funny how things turn out sometimes. I have been invited down sometime in the future to see her. It has been a very pleasant day so thank you again.

I recall Mr Frank Gill who previously owned a steel motor yacht named Ranchi. He lived near Worcester. I have also got a cine film of the trip to Avonmouth which features Gentian. I believe she may have been owned by Mr Dennis Shirlaw at one time but I may be wrong. My family owned a series of boats based at Beechams in Tewkesbury in the late 60's and I have written an article in the Tewkesbury Historical Society magazine about the Beecham boats. I now have a De Groot steel motor yacht called Bojalesa moored in Upton Marina.
Evening,
I managed to obtain a copy of your article about Beecham boats and found it fascinating. I will show my mother and see what if anything she can remember. I will also upload the few photos I have that may be of interest. It may take me sometime but they may be of interest to you and the historical society.

Really appreciate the effort and look forward to seeing pictures at some point.

Please see attached the photo I have of Quintella I think just before her launch all decked out in her flags. I have a copy of the Severn Motor Yacht Club year book 1960-61 & it lists Denis Shirlaw as owning a boat called Barson at that time.
I hope these are of interest.

Hey Nattajack, I was wondering if you may be able to either attach some photos of Bojalesa here or maybe dm me? This was formally my grandfathers yacht, built himself and moored for years at SMYC. It would be lovely to see it still in the water and to show the family etc.
Thanks

Thanks for contacting me regarding my motor yacht BOJALESA. I have tried to attach a photo but the file is too large for the server. You would be welcome to visit at Upton Marina. Sorry I don.t know how else to get in contact.
