Hi guys,

looking for a port windscreen section for the above boat. Any places I should contact? My friend’s insurance is saying £10k for a piece of glass. Can’t be right can it? Any advice gratefully received!

Ave you tried having one made by construction equipment glazers

I once had wido put through and jacket nicked out of my car , I made one out of Perspex and sold the car like that.

From your description I assume you are talking about the curved piece of front facing glass.
I had to source the same for a similar Bayliner 652 when the original shattered.
The whole screen was made by Taylor Made, yours is the same manufacturer I think.
Now this was in about 2010 but Taylor Made, in America, would not send me a piece of glass on its own for me to fit as they said it would not be done properly and would make their product look bad. They would sell me the whole frame and two glass pieces that make up whole side assembly but only if i bought in America in person. They would not ship it.
So I had to go to the importers, in my case that was Bates Wharf, for you probably Marina Marbella. They were able to get a screen section and shipped it across by putting it in one of the boats that they were bringing across anyway. They then fitted it to the boat.
Total cost was just over £2500. Luckily it was covered by my insurance.
However it took months to come across so in the mean time I made a temp repair from polycarbonate sheet, Makrolon or similar. It was easy enough and cost less than £100 and did the job fine. To the extent that if I ever had the problem again, if it was not covered by insurance I would be quite happy with the polycarbonate repair rather than pay thousands.
