As soon as I start the Watermote SeaPanther engine on my Sadler32 the oil pressure gauge flips straight to the upper stop. Since the engine appears to be running ok I assume that either the pressure sender or gauge is faulty.

I think that it makes sense to assume initially that it is the sender that is faulty, so does anyone know where I can get a replacement please?

Any good motor factors, they have catalogues of sender units. you need to know though the resistance of the original unit. If you take it to the factors, they may be able to do a cross match. Most are just switches, so you need one with a range of resistances

I seem to remember that the original SeaPather engine was originally derived from a FORD Cortina engine, which may be a starting point for the sender.
Next time you start the engine just check the oil filler point on the rocker box to make sure that oil is reaching the top of the engine, which confirms the oil pump is OK.
Slightly puzzled as to why the oil pressure is at max the whole time. My Sea Panther ran at 20psi regardless of throttle setting, and certainly I dont think it ever went above 30 psi
