I am having difficulty getting the Jeffreys seamflex into the seams. It gets all sticky and then sticks to the putty knife. I guess it is getting too warm? Does anyone have any ways of using the stuff that works well?

Thanks for your help in advance...

Wipe the putty knife on a rag dipped in linseed oil. Keep the rag handy and just touch the putty knife on it, each time.

There are probably easier ways, but when I recaulked with Seamflex earlier this year we rolled the hot Seamflex into sausages and forced it into the seams by hand leaving it standing slightly proud. We then went over it again using a hot air gun to re-melt it and forced it in with a thin offcut of wood thereby scraping most of the excess off at the same time.
A slow and sticky job but it seems to have stuck well.
