I have recently purchased waht appears to be a Seamaster 21 sailer that has been modified; I am hoping to put it back to its original state but there are one or two aspects where I can't work out the original lay out. Does anybody have one of these or know of the whereabouts of one so that I can get more info? Thanks

In 1963 I crossed the Atlantic in a Seamaster 21. Accomodation was greatly improved for the voyage by the addition of a workman's shed over the companionway. This meant that the toilet was no longer in the cockpit, providing shelter while answering calls of nature.

The al fresco heads (advertised by the manufacturers as "infinite heads room") were thought by enthusiasts of the Seamaster to be one of the most endearing features of the boat, along with the pink carpeted centreboard case, but led ultimately to the demise of the marque.

Lt Cmdr "Grip" Thribley, MD of Seamaster Yachts in the 1970s, is currently engaged in a search for the famous Transatlantic Seamaster 21, last heard of in North Cornwall. As a means of reviving the fortunes of the Seamaster Yachts company, Grip intends to let his 9 year old son take the boat singlehanded across the Atlantic to beat the current record for the youngest singlehanded transatlantic crossing.

If the Transatlantic Seamaster should come to light, it could be worth a great deal of money.
