Just about to dive in and change holding tank/pump-out sanitation hoses. Deep Joy!

Other threads on here point very strongly towards the Butyl Rubber makes, which is fine.

But do I need to seal the pipe with any kind of sealant around the skin and tank fittings? I am imagining that as the pump-out pipe is reinforced, it might not seal so nicely just with a jubilee clip?

No sealant required. You will find the hose a tight fit over the spigot and the clamp will hold it in place.

....and I think the recommendation for any foul water pipes are double jubilee clips. Don't want those little blighters leaking (from experience - inlet to the holding tank....took a long time for the smell to go despite lots of cleaning!!!)....

+1 - I have the butyl lined pipe (grey stuff from ASAP supplies; vetus also do a similar product) since new build 3 years ago, w double jubilee clips and no sealant, and have had zero problems (or smells). I would do the same again on another build in a heartbeat

I re-plumbed Ariam that way on your recommendation. Four years on and the heads has absolutely zero smell despite regular use. I really notice it when I visit some other boats and the compartment is a bit whiffy, in that way that I used to accept as just inevitable on a boat. Turns out there really is no need for it.
