What is the best way of stopping water running down through the deck fittings and rusting the chainplates on a wooden boat?
3 Nov 2007 #2 A angelsson Guest Probably best to remove them, clean area beneath them, and seal with a proprietory sealer like sikaflex or a 3m one. No short cuts for a proper repair, could also treat the chainplates to prevent further corrosion if the still good.
