The fuel feed from my tank to Separ filter includes a length of hydraulic hose with 3/8" BSP cone fittings at each end. I have been suffering a slight air leak on the fuel line and have now tracked it down to one of these joints. I've tightened it up as far as I can but it still leaks slightly. Is there any kind of sealnat or lubricant I can use that will help make an air tight/fuel tight joint?

I would not use any sealant but make sure that the mating surfaces are scrupulously clean and not marked, apply a little grease, and the nip them up again. If the surfaces are not marked they should easily seal as this is a very undemanding application.

Thanks for the comments. I’ve taken the fuel line off to have a proper look at it and try and see why it’s not sealing. For the sake of a few quid I might get my local hydraulic shop to put a new end on the pipe anyway. When I try to tighten the nut the whole pipe starts to twist so something is binding slightly and probably reducing the tightening force I can apply.
