thanks to every body that answered my last post

if i got it right they suffer with

stress cracking

chine walking

poor handaling

poor build quality

lack of power

over weight

and wrong drive type

apart from this they are quite good boats

so can any body suggest an alternative type of vessel

i thank you again for all your comments /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Sealine S41

That is a bit wrong, I have done a lot with these boats , with different engine options too, there interior is very good for there size, the bigger engine option is easer to helm, once you have the hang of them , as with any boat, they are NOT difficult or more difficult than any other sports boat there size, they are a caravan type boat that will take a sea if need be, but are built for comfort, and room. I would suggest you get a sea trail in one . or see if you can get a ride in one from a forum member before condemning them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The S41 is still a good boat, but as with all boats just check it out.

An alternative is the V40/V42 but does not have the room of an S41. In fact no other Sportscruiser 38-44ft has the amount of space of an S41. Failing that an S37/38 is a great bet or a Fairline Targa 37. Targa 40's unfortunately have the Tender garage which makes them less practical in the UK.

If you do not want to risk the S41 then you will have to compromise,

cheers

Re: Sealine S41

ouch, caravan boat, ooh what does that make mine, is is a Caravanette?

Neh I know what you mean sealines can do the rough stuff but do not excell in this area...erm, much like me!! We all like to go out for a blast in the bouncy stuff from time to time but it gets dull afte 10 mins, we will go out in the rain, snow, freezing cold etc but plan to avoid heavy winds, nothing to do with the boats capabilities just our preference.

Re: Sealine S41

Fully agree.

Took my F33 through some pretty rough stuff over the years but NEVER felt unsafe in her. When the props suddenly appear out of the water and the sea "boils" you know it's going to be tough. (Round Barfleur at the wrong time!! My fault.) No worries in the F33, but still prefer a calm passage!
