I am looking at a Sealine at the moment, but it does not have the saloon infill cushions to make a double bed from the saloon seating.

Could really do with a couple of photos of exactly what they look like and some idea of the dimensions and thickness of the ply base board. I know that it sits on the footstool, which is present.

Sealine can no longer supply and do not have any product info.

Many thanks

David

Dave thats no problem, I can put you intouch with a company in the Midlands that make the upholstery for sealine that should have the template for the cushion, and at reasonable cost.

The co that my wife works for also supply sealines fabrics so should not be a problem matching an older boat up.

Can you give the company name on this forum or if a problem can you pm me please.
I guess it's not "Fibretrim" because I believe they got absorbed by Sealine a few years back during a downturn.
Cheers

Its not Fibretrim , but its old staff who worked there, will get back to you and Dave asap.

We are considering an S41 as well Dave. Have you decided whether to go for shafts on the 43 or outdrives on the 41/42?

Thanks Hector, a few pictures of the infill cushions, plus some idea of the dimensions would really help. Would especially like an indication of the thickness of the base board.

We have opted for a shaft drive boat. They are harder to find, and cost more, but I think that it is worth it. We have done a deal on a low hours 43.

I have an article from one of the mags which does a direct comparison of the 41 and the 43. It has to be said that the 43 wins hands down on perforamnce and handling. Surprisingly, the fuel consumption was also better for the shafts but was comparing Yanmar against Mercruisers so not sure if that would be replicated if they compared Volvo TAMD 74/75 with the KAD 300's.

Greg

The Volvo 75's are around 5% more fuel efficient than the 74's. Most people I have spoken to reckon on 1mpg at 27kts with the 75's. Obviously would be better at around 22kts. The S43 with 75's that I sea trialled made 32kts with a dirty bottom.

The larger engines are likely to be much less stressed than the KAD300. And who needs the added expense of outdrives off every two years to change the bellows?

David,
Thanks for that. I am assuming that the boat you are buying has the 75's? Be interested to know what speed the boat does at tickover. We plan to move back inland onto the Broads so will be river based for a lot of the time but with sea trips for holidays.

According to the article I have the Yanmars do 26.5 knots at 2800 and do 1.26mpg. Not sure how accurate these figures are.

Are you buying the one in Scotland? Looks a nice boat.
