Would anyone happen to know the construction of the bulkhead wall between the dining area and heads compartment on the Sealine S38, 2005 MY?

I always see pictures of the LCD TV being fitted below the electric panel at the opposite end of the dining area (between dining and helm) and am trying to work out if this is because of ease of cabling or the ability to fit a strengthening panel behind the wall and not worry about the pointy end of the screws going right through the wall.

I would like to fit a larger screen on the wall between dining and heads but there is no way of getting a strengthening sheet behind the wall. Also, unsure if that wall is double thickness and therefore able to accept screws without poking throgh into heads compartment.

Thanks

Neil

Think I've answered my own question. Just realised there is a toilet roll holder screwed to the wall on the heads side so therefore the wall must be cavity construction. I will remove one of the screws on said holder and insert a small screwdriver and see how deep the cavity is so I can know what length screws I am able to use. Hopefully it wil have a plywood inner construction and therefore suitable for holding the weight of a 26" LCD tv.

Looked into this when I was considering a S38 & was told it was a cavity wall.

Fantastic, thanks. Think I will be ordering the 26LG4000 LCD/DVD today which should look quite smart sat on that wall. Nowe all I need to find is a suitable bracket that will mount it as flush to the wall as possible and still with a tilt option.

Any ideas on smart looking TV brackets?

The only practical way to fit a LCD tv is by the use of a VESA bracket. I do not agree that a tiltable tv bracket will give any cause for concern. I have a 19" AVTEX LCD mounted on a articulated arm VESA mount, and it has been fine. There are many boat owners I know, that have used the flat tiltable variant of the VESA mount, and none of them have encountered any problems that I'm aware of.
