Hello all,
Are there any S37 owners that could share there ownership views with me, as that is one model I am considering as an upgrade from a four winns 248.
Much appreciated

Worth joining and posting on the Sealine Forum if you haven’t already.

Not owned an S37 but have owned an S34 and am fairly familiar with the make. Good boats overall with fairly decent accommodation and the bonus of separate shower and heads compartments. Mercruiser engined versions always tended to be a bit cheaper as Volvos considered the better option.

I had an S37 for 20 years in the Med and sold it last year through Burton Waters. It’s for sale on their website again I notice after only one year and according to the blurb the owner is trading up.
Excellent boat with no particular faults and they made a couple of hundred of them up to 2002 so well proven design.
Anything specific you need to know?……perhaps you’re the one who has put an offer on my old boat!!!
If not have a look at the Burton Water video, it shows a good walk through.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take a look at their website.

Most likely kad42/43 be use we would be looking at a early model boat, cica 1996-1998
Try and get the KAD43’s there were some cylinder head gasket issues with the 42’s which were resolved with later 42’s and of course included in the 43 range
The S34 is an excellent boat also. Several on this forum. Might be tempting to go for a newer 34 as opposed to an older 37

I had one and it was one of my favourite boats.
I don’t think there is a more spacious 37ft sport cruiser.
The covers are an important part of the boat. You need good quality ones that go up and down easily and don’t leak.
Budget for new unless they are perfect.

I had an S36 approx 25 years ago, same hull I believe with kad 42’s, excellent sea boat, crossed the channel a number of times,,engines never missed a beat, although they were not happy running between 8/15 knots due to the supercharger being engaged.

Looks like the Burton Waters S37 is sold, that had an offer on almost immediately. When I sold it a year ago it went in just 3 weeks.
Burton Waters is an odd location but they do seem to shift boats.
You won’t find the walk through video on the website any more but here’s a link if you missed it @Ichthyosaur

Hi Rob,

We've had a S37 for the last 3 seasons, having stepped up from a S24 & then S28. We keep her on the upper Thames, but take her to sea at least once per year (and hopefully more).
Where will you be looking to keep the boat?
We run KAD42 engines which just require relatively straightforward maintenance. She's great to handle. As previously mentioned, it has a separate shower room & heads - this is great as keeps the heads dry and means both can be used at the same time.
Both forward and aft cabins offer more space than the S34; we often have 4+ onboard so space important to us.
Is there anything specific you'd like to know?

Thanks for the reply.
We sail out of Portishead on the Bristol channel, typically to Cardiff, Swansea and Milford haven.
I'm considering both the f33 and s37, both have positives and negatives and I suspect it will come down to what we can afford. Either way, we'll be looking at early versions of both.
Regards
Rob
