Hi guys (& gals - by the way happy Valentines day). We're thinking of changing from a flybridge (Sealine 350 Statesman) to a sportsboat and were looking at a Jeanneau Prestige 34 Sport top today. One of our aims this year is to travel to the Med via the French canals. Height is a real consideration because of the 3.5 meter air draft limit due to rthe bridges. We may also look at Sealine s34 which looks a bit more 'comfy'. Anyone know the air draft of one of these?
Anyone taken one through the canals? If so, how did you get on? I would appreciate any feedback on this and also the S34 in general. Thanks.

Are you looking at a new or used boat? Perhaps something with an easily folding Radar Arch might be a consideration? Not perfect for running with it down all the time, but Can be easily folded to pass under a low bridge and then put back up again. Some Dorals have folding arches as does my BMB 330

Looking at both options, new and old. Ideally it would be better if no folding was needed at all (as would be the case with the Jeanneau). Could have the radar tower on our existing Sealine Statesman modified to fold via a hinge arrangement but fancy a change to a sport boat, and as I am happy with our Sealine in other ways I thought that I would explore that route.

Ok, the 34 has a similar bridge clearances to most other SC of that length. Folding might give you other otions. What about the Jeanneau without the hardtop?

Alternatively if new, I do know of a semi custom Scandinavian 34 sports boat coming to the UK this year - fantastic quality and competitive. Let me know if you want a sneek peek and I'll PM you a few details. it has quite low air draft.

Just catching up on emails, The full air height on a S34 is 3.62m which includes to the top of the steaming light. the height to the top of the radar arch is 3.16m, on our S34 we got a stainless steel guy to do a folding mech which is simple & leaves us with height of 3.30m. pm if you need opinions on S34.
