I thought it was a newish one as when I searched the web a few months ago for a sealine owners club, I couldn't find any - now it has with this one - apologies if it is an old one
NO, Please don't apologise. Any mention of a Sealine owners club is always good news.
Spread the word, but tell people the address is http://www.sealineownersclub.co.uk its easier to remember.
Regarding the S24, great boat, many people on here have it, including myself, but i maybe selling mine.

Oh Please!!! Lets not bring all that up again!!!! Cheers
Al.
[/ QUOTE ] Agreed, and we quite like our earlier 93 interior.
Advice on the Sealine, not just yet as we have only just bought her, but despite being 13 years old and having travelled 5023 sea miles (according the the Autohelm tridata) she is in excellent condition and we are very pleased with her.
AlistairR - just looked at your website with the pics of your s24 - very impressed, looks in great condition and like the pic showing the outer seating on the cockpit. How many would you say you could comfortably sit, as would like to think that me and the girlfriend could invite another 2 couples onboard for a day cruise without it being to squashed on board
We bought an S23 a few months ago - as I understand it, same size and very similar lay out to S24, just a newer version. Have had 4 out on her so far with bags of room to spare. Wouldn't like 4 down below though! Not for socialising anyway, fine for late night drink and then bed! Can't imagine room to spread out with 6 on deck, but can't imagine it being uncomfortable either. We love her - great size for 2 of us, big enough to go away for a break and room for us and mates on a nice day. My only recommendation would be to get a good, thorough survey done. We had problems with hull cracking which was all properly fixed prior to sale - rumour has it that this is worth checking out on Sealines, although I'm new to this and may have been told rubbish!
thanks for that - really appreciate all the advice. It would 80% of the time only be the 2 of us onboard anyway so I think size wise it would be fine, plus as first boat don't want to big anyway
The seating in the cockpit is pretty damn good.
Whilst in the marina, we have entertained 9!!!! Yes, it was cosy, but a heck of a good night with a few drinks and plenty of laughs. Wouldn't like that many on a regular occurance.
You should get an infill cushion for the entrance area, also the helm seats folds over to give another 2 places, when they are both in place, it basically gives you seating round all 4 sides of the table. We also have a small fold away seat i use and put it in the walk way to the cabin, if we have a lot onboard.
Whislt underway is a different matter, 2 couples and yourselves is probably the maximum i would want on the boat. Plenty of space for your guests to sit round the table, while you are up front at the helm, and SWMBO playing hostess with the drinks and snack,,,,,,,well thats how we play it!!!!!
You can see in infill cushion in this picture:
Yes, it is a very good sociable boat.
Feel free to ask anymore questions.
S23 has a different hull with a longer waterline length and has more room both in the cabin and the cockpit, helped by the absence of a full time bathing platform. We loved our S24, which we sold back in the Autumn, but more than four in cockpit was cramped. Stress cracks... yes, ours developed six foot long ones on both chines during my ownership, starting from skin fittings. Was actually a cheap fix as only hairline, but we never really drove the boat that hard in choppy waters so it was a bit of a surprise. Also the galley secondary moulding will probably be cracked, as apparently most of em all split when the hull flexes.
Alistair, super photo. Memories of our 230 (which I think they called the "Balero" in my day) came flooding back. We had one for six years, towed it to the Med most years and had a huge amount of family/friends fun. No problems with ours at all and got an excellent trade in from Sealine and they resold the boat the next day. In it's class I don't think they come any better.
....wish I could say the same about the latest breed of Sealines
