So on pages 18 and 19 of the new mag these boats get a brief review. My question for the panel, can a (slightly smaller) Princess really be worth £150000 more?

If the Fairline 53 Flybridge ever makes an appearance, will it be worth £500K more? Good to see that Sealine is back where is was always successful in building well priced boats.
 
I've not read it yet. Do we know the price differential for boats with the same level of equipment? I seem to recall that Hanse stripped a lot of standard spec out when they took over.
 
The £150K difference will drop if you equalise the engine options, the F530 has IPS600 where as the P49 probably has IPS650 or IPS800 (510hp or 600hp D11). That must add a chunk to the cost.
 
You'd need to compare the specs and look at the materials and build quality to form a view on relative value, but purely on styling I think it's time for Princess to be slightly bolder. Except for the square hull window, that 49 could have been designed 10 years ago. I understand that Princess have a conservative customer base, but I think even they will be open to some new styling ideas.

Whether you like the Sealine or not, it certainly looks bang up to date. Personally I really like it, and if I was looking for a new boat at this size I'd be far more drawn to the Sealine than the Princess.
 
I thought I was being nice to Princess by comparing to the 49 but have realised that the 52 (which I love) is only just a little larger and would make the comparison even more eye popping!

I think that's an error, unless there's a new IPS coming out we don't know about. There's an IPS650 that uses 510hp D11 or IPS800 that uses 600hp D11.

Would be tough choice between 2-3 year old P52 on good old shafts or new P49...
 
Just had a look at both boats on the respective web sites.

IMHO the Princess looks an old design compared to the ultra modern looking Sealine. Having said that I have always been a fan of Princess boats but on this occasion the Princess really does look as if it's from a completely different era.

Both great looking boats however!
 
I have had several sealines and tried to look at the f450 before buying a prestige 500, the problem is for 2 years on the trot they didn't bring one over to the sbs for us to look at, so in the end decided to move brands to someone who can be bothered to exhibit in the uk.

will they bring the 530 over ?, I doubt it which is a shame as it looks a great boat.

I had a look at the princess but agree its a huge amount of money for the size of boat.

Good layout with space for 6
Quality finish( I'm sure some will disagree on this bit)
Good dealer with experience of the brand
Warranty and knowing it will get solved.
Fit a 6'4 bloke

Separate master
Med spec as heading to spain
Good flybridge layout with safe deck areas for the kids and storage for all the toys.
Knowledge of proven design and good feedback from forum
