Not exactly, but its got to be between the engine (alternator) and start and house/domestic battery, Have you followed the cable through ?

Not yet that was going to be the last thing to try.....
It charges the battery for the bow thruster and the house batteries so expecting it is going to be hard to trace...

On Rafiki (not a Sealine I'm afraid) the diode is easy to spot.

It shouldn't be that hard to find. Just follow the cable through from the engine.
It will be near the engine compartment somewhere.

Will take a look at the weekend. I think the problem will be that all cables go into conduit so is hard to trace.....
