Sealine F43 Good boat/bad boat ?

Best boat that Sealine made, in my view - they were nuts to stop building it.

This was ours on a lumpy day in Poole bay:

There are better boats in the rough for sure, but it was certainly fine in anything I was happy in, including some pretty hairy stuff off Guernsey (which soaked me to the bone on the flybridge).

Berthing was fine. You could feel the windage, but as long as you planned for it, no problems. Like all things, you get used to it and I'm sure one of the Mendez lot could give you plenty of pointers. Jon did the handover for ours and was brilliantly helpful...

Take an F42/5 and a T46 aft cabin. Put the T46 aft cabin in the 42/5 - and you have the superb F43. What a fabulous craft!.
Besides, the F43 has been a very popular boat with excellent sea keeping abilities and spacious accomodation. Much rather the F43 than a Broom aft cabin. Engines are usually spec'd correctly with plenty of H.P. Good luck and let us know your choice.

One of the few aft-cabin boats in that class that doesn't look like it has had botox injections to increase the size of it's rear.

Unless of course you are over 4ft 10" and might want to stand up at any point during the night /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I loathe and detest motor boats and GRP with an equal passion greater than you can ever possibly imagine. I think they are smelly, loud, overrated, expensive, disgusting, antisocial. These overblown examples of frozen snot are foul emblems of an overindulgent society. Fuel prices should be quadrupled and a massive luxury tax imposed on their owners.

However, I used to spend hours on my mates F43 in Spain and it was brilliant.

Thank you RickP

At least I have the decency to smile as David takes your money......

Thanks for the comments, what would be the preferred engine choice, the one I'm looking at has 370's, but they are also available with 460's. would the bigger engines be better on the sea, without straining and would they be to big for the French canals etc?

That looks interesting....
Im uploading about 50 images to photobucket at the moment, will post the link as soon as it done.
Do you know what boat he is looking for?

Just bought one. Had our first trip (other than the delivery) out in her this weekend. They are amazing boats if you have not sat inside one you will be amazed at the amount of space in the saloon. I see from your bio that you are in Hampshire, I am in Gosport if you want to take a look before you buy.

We have moved up from a Fairline Corniche there is no comparison.

We have the 370hp engines and she flies.

Anything else you need to know drop me a line.

F43 is real example of what Sealine used to do very well and along with a few other models (S28, S37, F36) helped them build a solid reputation.

I posted here a couple of years back abour Sealine moving away from their core business imo.

Personally I think it';s a mistake as thery used to offer a lot of boat for your buck.
