Morning all

I’m just in the process of purchasing a Sealine F42/5, can anyone recommend a suitable weight Rib & size for a F42/5 as it’s got the SECS extending cockpit so I’m not sure what weight it can take once’s fully extended.
Also there are no davits or crane fitted so il like recommendations as to what I can fit? Ideally I’d like an electronic lift as opposed to manual.
does any one have any pics of there own set up?
the rib Iv been looking at is the SUR MARINE ST290 or ST310, this is my first option and I’d like to make it happen but if it’s not suitable then what are my options.
TIA

I also own a 42/5 it but keep our dingy in the laz, yu could try on the sealine forum .

There was a F42/5 which is based in Dartmouth called rockport which had a good set up. Not sure on the crane but the tender was a brig 300 or 330 with an electric trim and start 20hp Suzuki outboard. Looked like a great set up and talked to the owner about it while filling up in Brixham last year And he was pleased.

Congratulations on your new boat - lovely.
The extending cockpit slides backwards and takes the transom/cockpit seat with it. I had similar on a T50 and it didn't strike me as masssively strong. The Seat /Transom seemed more designed for sitting on, not mounting big lumps of stainless steel. Sorry can't say how strong. I had a 3.3m Valiant Center Console RIB with a 15HP outboard on the swim platform. It seemed quite happy to move in and and out with the RIB on it. The RIB was lifted on and off with a rotating passarelle. The Passarelle was mounted at the corner of the hull onto a very reinforced part of the hull which did not move.

I have had traditional mini crane davits on a sealine F43 and they are a complete pain in the ar@e - always in the way for getting on and off - especially when you are moored side on. Everyone had to clamber under/over around/swim to get past them. Plus when I removed them- they are very heavy adding extra weight and forces into the transom assembly.

As, the strength of the sliding assembly is limited I would be having a look at something like these to minimise the extra weight and keep the space behind the tender clear for easy boarding. However it might limit your choice of tender.
Pull-on dinghy davit systems and dinghy davits for inflatable boat davit systems.
