Has anyone got a wiring diagram of the link that connects both engines [Merc.4.2LD 220] Ive got a bad connection somewhere on the port engine which only allows starting via the link switch.. I have the diagram for the engines but it doesn't show the sealine wiring. The main cable for the starter motor disappears up in front of the transom but I cant work out how it connects with the link switch or isolator switches. I can start the engine by jumping off the batteries directly onto the main starter motor connection. You would think that a faulty joint or earth connection would give a hotspot somewhere but I have checked all the accessable connections. Dave

Had this fault some years ago on a Clients F33. It turned out to be the main isolation switch!
Just a thought. 'isolate' the isolation switch and see what happens might be worth a try.

You can get the owners manual which has the boats wiring diagram at the Sealine Forum free to join and a great site

It's shown as a direct wire from isolator switch to starter, batt link is at isolator switch also, so uses common main cable to engine.

So as said check isolator switch, also check cable from battery to isolator switch.

Thanks everyone.I have shorted out and even renewed the isolator. I cant get any high readings on a avo meter.Ive changed over both banks of batteries to no avail.

If wired to diagram link feed and and starter feed are common at isolator output terminal, if link will start the engine it is using the main cable to starter, Have you 12v at isolator output terminal? have you 12v on this terminal when you try to start? have you 12v on the terminal when you press link switch ?
