Sealine F33 - advise sought

Owned our F33 for 6 years and am perfectly happy with it. Comment about one hand on the trim tabs is untrue and unhelpful.Been out in all kinds of conditions and never had any problems and always felt confident in the boats abilities. The fly bridge is not huge but adequate and with dodgers fitted it is protected and safe.

Have driven a couple of Sealine F33's and in my experience it is neither untrue nor, therefore, unhelpful.

Any change in wind speed, direction relative to the boat (ie course change, wind veering round a headland, whatever), someone shifting position on the boat, and you're having to tab her back up straight again.

It's a very tall narrow short boat, it's inevitable. Doesn't mean the boat has no plus sides, as I mentioned, accommodation for a 33 footer is very reasonable.

When checking the market situation, noticed that there are quite many F33 on sale (18th November 2010).

2003 - VolvoKAD32 /170HP - 85hrs - £109,950 - UK
2003 - AD41PDP-E / 200HP - 420hrs - £112,950 - UK
2003 - VolvoKAD32 /170HP - 494hrs - £98,000 - NL
2003 - VolvoKAD32 /170HP - 230hrs - £99,000 - ES
2003 - KAD32P/DP / 170HP - 150hrs - £99,500 - UK

Not very big differiencies with the equipments (need more close study, but...)

My question is that what is the reason for such a lot on sale, as other years (2004, 2005, etc,) are not on sale? Do these have now some extra service requirements or such a costly issues coming to be fixed?

If any comments, reallywould appreciate as this is new boat to me.

The F33 went out of production in 2003, making way for the F34.
(Welcome by the way! I notice your location is Finland...... I'll be in Helsinki for a week in January. I guess the Baltic won't have too many F33's floating when I get there! The last ime I was in Helsinki the only thing moving on the water was ice breaking boats and huge ferries)

Alt, wont you miss being able to chuck your S23 around?

The F33 is going to be a whole different ball game and losing 6 or 7 knots off your cruising speed as well

Ah, the poor lad is growing up, by the time he gets to my age he will have a semi-displacement cruiser, mostly travel at 7 - 8 knots, save money on fuel to spend on beer, be able to hold a conversation without shouting at the person on the seat next to him, be able to have a drink and a bite to eat on the move. - He will also need a bigger bog and a separate shower as he will not be so supple.
Chucking a boat around is fun for a while, but not good for an extended stay on board.
I am in my comfort years now - and enjoying every minute of it.

Have had mine for 10 yrs and have had little problems with stability. Often have 4 large lads up on the fly with me and once stabilised no problem other than to stop your crew from moveing about unnecessary and to cancel the trim before reciprocating your course. I have heavy Merc 220 hp engines with sp bravo 2 outdrives which make for better low down weight stability aqnd rarely have to use my tabs to get going. If a couple of bods are on the stern having a fag you may have to tab. Sometimes when heading into a brisk wind the boat will heal into the wind and you will need some opposite tab.

Ah, I have toy's for chucking about! I need something that I can stay on for longer. The F33 was just a wild thought. Realisticly I reckon i'm sticking with sports-cruisers for a little while yet

But anyway you are right that there are not many Sealine F33 floating around, at least not on sale.

F33 is a great boat. Friend of mine had one, he went everywhere in it and in just about any sea condition (within reason). At that time we had an S34 (similar hull/engine) and I don’t ever remember the height/blah/length/whatever dimensions of his boat ever causing him any issues. I don’t remember him struggling in marinas either. In fact, I can only picture him smiling every time he was helming it.
