Sealine dump Excel

Surly it makes sense to build sealines in the factory in the states along side Bayliners.

Alright they would loose some of the 'British Built' cred but does that really stand for much ?

Do Sealine owners care if they are made in England, USA or Mexico ?

Not sure, BUT I do as they help pay my mortgage !!! and a few other people who have to live in the UK.

Err, Yes.

>Bayliner and Sealine can then share boat show stands.
And No.

agree about 1, on 2 I think it can be made
Ferretti Groups principle can stand here, while Ferretti brands are all luxurious
Brunswick can follow a similar concept IMO ok Bayline need not to be near Sealine but if you have Sealine next to Searay it is not bad
remember Brunswick also owns Hatteras IMO its most important brand and Cabo (2nd important)

Along the back hall at Excel last year were:

Sunseeker Princess Fairline Sealine (ok and Sea Ray and a few others).

Thing is, mention the name "Brunswick" to the average person in the UK, and you will mostly get a blank look, or possibly "Something to so with Pool Tables?".

If I was running Sealine I would cut back the staff in the UK (already done) then when demand picks up I would manufacture parts (particularly smaller moulded components) in China/Malaysia and container ship them back to the UK where I'd assemble the boats.

That way I'd cut costs and still keep the 'Made in England' tag.
