Sealine 218

Does anyone that owns a Sealine 218 or similar layout have an inverter installed?

how did you do it and where is it?

Used to have a 215, no inverter though.
There is plenty of room in the engine bay to fit, put it as close to the batteries as you can using the largest cable that the terminals will take - please fuse the supply to the inverter correctly, and off you go. 240v on board.
BTW, why do you need one?

I want want to run the TV/DVD i got for the kids

i am worried about mounting it in the engine bay as it needs cooling and the engine bay will get hot

plus i cant see it in there to keep an eye on fault lights etc

We got around the need for 240V on the move by buying a 12V TV/DVD unit. It works fine but we just dont tend to watch it very much.

Inverters are a really inefficent way of getting 240V on board, most LCD TV's are actualy 12V anyway and have 240V-12V converter in the supplied tranformer. Tesco's do a nice 19inch TV/DVD which runs on 12V for about £150. I've got 600W inverter on board but only use for charging phones, it would cane the battery to run the TV.

but I have already bought the TV (22 inch) but it doesnt have an transformer box etc, its 240 v hardwired straight into the tv

I have already got the inverter as well..............so this is the way its going to be.........its just a matter of where i mount the invertor.

Somebody must have done this in a Sealine??

Its better to copy someone else that has a working setup and is proven, than make up my own..........i plan on installing next week...let me know what has worked for who.
