There has been sightings of one as far up as Twickenham over the last few summers . Not heard of one slipping past Teddington lock before though .

There have been seals

Won't a salt water crittur die in fresh water? Or at least get rapid and chronic osmosis?

As far as Tedd for years, about 20 years ago there was a hoofing great one that used to sit on some old dog at toughs before the new moorings were put in.

With a decent tide it's not impossible for it to head up past Tedd? although I would be concerned for its welfare if it stayed there any length of time.

I dont think they are too bothered by fresh water. There are a few that traverse the sluice at Boston and spend a lot of time on the non tidal Witham. One of them is very friendly and spends a lot of time sunbathing on the banks.

My concern

Is the lack of food but I am sure it gets fed bread by those feeding the ducks, which probably does not do it much good.

I am sure seals can live on roach just as well as mackerel!

Ahem, does it need a BSS,which club burgee applies, whats the position regards moorings and can it read with ref to lock operating procedures.
Ps.What are they like to eat and has anybody seen any Igloos or kayaks with Inuit hunters on board.
