Seajet Peller clean?

Lisa, I've just bought the TK Spray from F4. This has had some good feedback on here. BTW, your weather for tomorrow has just got better. We have returned home :)

Lol accu says rain so I think you must still be hiding somewhere ;). TK..I'll have another perusal when I'm down next.
Thanks Raf.

Re Peller Clean, I've used it twice.

First time: put on in not ideal conditions as it was in the depths of winter, it lasted all the way from Saxon Wharf to Swanwick, by which it had all come off.

Second time: was given a replacement due to the above, so tried again. This time, the prep and putting it on were meticulous. Result: it was best part of a year before I lifted again, by which time there was very little sign of any of it still stuck to the prop and the usual amount of barnacles.

And that's on a sailing boat whose engine rarely goes over 1600 RPM.

Interesting...thanks npf1. Glad you said before I went and spent £100 quid on the 2 packs I'd have needed.

I'm becoming a fan of the TK aerosol spray from force 4, that poster Firefly625 originally alerted us to. Less than £20 per can, and I sprayed a whole can on each (quite large) prop. This stuff has been in the water since April and in the Med (now 28 degrees) since late June, and I dived last week and was very pleased to see virtually no muck, and no barnacles at all, on the props. In contrast, and as a "control" for the experiment, my up/down platform mechanism which is bare unpainted s/steel has quite a lot of barnacles on it. I'll get pictures later but my preliminary view is that this TK stuff is quite effective and bargain of the century - thanks Firefly

Good to hear JFM, a couple of cans going on the Snazi when she is next lifted.

I feel another Sant Carles test coming
This time - the TK aerosol

Can't fly with Aerosols so it will have to wait until the road / ferry trip out
Friends are bringing some stuff out for us but not until November

good for you that can get your hands to this spray!

how am I meant to get it down here though? Cannot buy from the UK, original co is in Italy by the looks of it and doesn't mention dealers in various countries :(

Am I right, is it them? http://www.silpartkline.com/indexing.htm

cheers

Vas, correct, and it is the TK anti fouling spray can. Is there an issue with transport from the UK?

Paul,

afaik UK companies cannot deliver stuff overseas due to aerosols, CPES, epoxy and others being flammable hence dangerous for air freight.
also afaik there's not an easy way to get them shipped in another way.
Even the freight co in London that I've used for the passerelle, bowthruster, some pumps and other pieces of h/w wont allow shipping flamable stuff and they are using trucks btw.

So, without asking them, I assume I wont be able to order 2 cans and get them delivered down here...

cheers

Vas, I will check with the guys who are responsible for the Dangerous Goods transport tomorrow, and get back to you. In general, aerosols are classed as DG, but they are not prevented from transporting in baggage in the hold of an aircraft afaik. The only check is for carry on above 100 ml.
