Was going to try Seajet 033 this year. Anyone else tried it for Portsmouth harbour?

Also, the new boat has a saildrive. Do I use regular antifouling on it, or do I have to use hard stuff, as for the prop?

I switched from Blakes to Seajet 2 years ago and would recommend it to anybody. Minimal slime and I think you could get away with one good coat for 2 years protection.
I'm in Strangford, the mooring in an estuary.

Not used Seajet but can tell you not to use it on the saildive. You must use the correct antifouling. We have a saildrive on our boat and would recommend the spray can not the tin we've used both. You probably do this already but check your water when starting the engine as the holes for the intake are prone to blocking up. It happened to us so we actually put another water intake in, so plenty of water circulating the engine. Hope this is some use.

Jeremy,

I put Seajet on in June - 5 litres did two coats which 'should' last two years. The bottom still looks pretty clean but I'll tell you whether it worked next summer!

Moved from blakes to seajet - in Plymouth. Launched march - came out in November - some slime very low down.

Good thing about it is that it is fairly hard and it appears you can brush it to remove local messes, unlike blakes which came off in clouds.

Cheap - easy to apply - so go for it.

I used it last year and am very pleased with the performance in Hamble. It came top in the YM test too. You can get it from the chandler opposite Campers.

Good to here about it being semi-hard. I tried Boatscrubber on Micron, and it scrubbed most of it off!
