My Seagull Featherweight does not have a fuel tank drain plug

but the washer on the fuel tap is 3/8" ID. I guess therefore it's the same . Looks like a compressible copper washer

Thanks for the info. Good to have the help and knowledge base of the forum members.

For security and fewer fuel leaks when Ethanol in fuel became the norm I put into stock and used Dowty washers in the sizes used on British motorcycle fuel taps. Our leakage problems disappeared. They are composite copper/synthetic rubber sealing washers.

Far superior, try ebay and get what you need from there.

Hi all who ventured forth with your suggestions. I tried an old fibre washer I found in my bits and pieces but still weeping probably too old. So I have looked/investigated all suggestions and I have ordered a pack of 5 Dowty 3/8"ID washers. I will post the result.

Thanks to all of you who reponded
