We have just inherited a sego 4 person life raft on our new boat.

we have no use for it.

I have found the original receipt for it (2008) but no other paper work to say if it has been serviced. Is this safe to sell or do I need to ditch it?

Thanks

There are no restrictions on selling it. However, it is due for its third service which is expensive, so you may not get much for it. It does have as a minimum a trade in value against a new one.

Iirc that Seago liferaft has a finite life of 12 years, subject to servicing. I got mine serviced about a year ago at Seago and it was about £250 - so in other words a service would buy you (or a purchaser) a couple of years, that's all. It is therefore really not worth very much, sorry and other suggestions for disposal are good.
