seago lifejacket sprayhoods

Santa sent me one of these and the material is more flimsy than I had expected, although to be fair it needs to pack away into a small pouch.
As the design is elasticated at the top and bottom and intended to fit around the botom of a lifejacket (to retain shape and hold off the face) it is hard to just put it over the head and visualise how well it would work.
Have any forum members used one of these for real and how well did it work? I suppose I could manually inflate one of my retired lifejackets and try it out for size/fit.

I've got some Baltic sprayhoods. I manually inflated one of my jackets to see how the hood worked. It's worth practising before you need to use them in a real situation!

I found mine quite difficult to pack neatly away into the neck of the jacket but I have since read that it is much easier if they are warmed up first.

I have the same lifejackets and hood/light pack and couldn't figure out how to permanently attach them for quick use. I shall ask Seago at the Boatshow in January and report back. In the meantime please dont sink or fall overboard!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
