We have a Seafarer 700 Echo Sounder and a square digital repeat meter circa 1985. The 6 colour coded connections inside the repeater have been disconnected. Opening up the back of the repeater reveals a circuit board with the 6 spade connections. Can anyone tell us which coloured wire fits the spade connections?

I have a PDF of the instruction manual for the Seafarer 501. It mentions briefly the remote readout, which is the same for both 501 and 701.

It mentions the purpose of the different colours, but doesn't give a connection diagram for the repeater.

Send me a PM with your email address if you want a copy.

I have a repeater on a Seafarer 900. It also has 6 wires so is probably wired the same as yours. I am going to take it off the boat in the next couple of weeks as it is not working properly and if you want I will let you know which wires are attached where. Please let me know if you still want the info.

Thanks but we have instructions for the Seafarer 700, it is the wiring diagram for the internal connections direct to the circuit board inside of the repeater.

These connections are from the circuit board on the repeater A-H, to the 701 Depth sounder 1-10...

A Red 5v to 2
B Green Signal to 1
C Yellow Zero to 4
D Blue -VE Screen to 3
E Large Blue Illum to 9
F Brown Illum to 8
H Screen to 3

From the boat

Illum to 8
-VE 12v to 9
+VE 12v to 10

I used screened 6 core signal cable, although the illumination was a bit dim.
