I am replacing the seacock valve on the engine raw water inlet
I would like to use the trudesign type plastic ball valve
I need a stainer as well.
I have this tpye of strainer installed on top of the existing
Would this bronze type be ok to fit on top of the new plastic type ball valve or should I stick to plastic throughout?

More common now to fit a Vetus style above the waterline strainer than to old bronze one direct onto the ball valve. No real advantage in using Trudesign over bronze or DZR from a corrosion point of view.

Main advantage I've found with TruDesign is that after several years they can still be operated with one finger whereas dzr used to stiffen up in no time.

That is true of all metal ball valves with teflon lined sockets (particularly the big ones), but stiffness can be minimized by regular operation. Mine are still easy after nearly 6 years in the water.

Thank you all for your replies
I hadn't noticed the use of bronze filter on the video before.
Using the orginal filter/ strainer will help with ease of installation as there is not much room
