I have recently changed my sea water intake seacock while the saildrive was out for servicing (diaphram change). The original hose is the transparent type with spiral reinforcement, it is deformed at the end (15 years old), so temporally to get it to seal, it has been shortened. But I would like to replace all the sea water hoses including the one to the inlet filter and raw water pump. Can anyone recommend if this type of hose is still recommended. And also a good supplier ASAP perhaps?
Best regards

My surveyor requires that sea water inlet hoses in the engine space are fire resistant to ISO 7840. This is to prevent an engine fire causing a catastrophic ingress of water. ASAP can supply RINA-approved reinforced hose to this rating.

It will require changing the clamps (Mikalor super clamps are really good), but when I was an engineer we would use exhaust hose for engine inlet. It will last the life of the engine, is flexible, is resistant to oil & abrasion and will not let go or leak if over heated or in a fire.
Anecdotally, I have seen cases where a minor incident (overheating engine or failed starter motor) turned into a major one (serious leak) as the water intake hose melted through causing the double-whammy of major leak, and no engine to get into harbour. hence the regs seems to have caught up.
