First ever boat (Hardy 24)

Phoned up & asked a few questions.
Haggled a bit & got offer accepted.
Sent broker 44k electronic wire sight unseen.
Turned up with proffesional skipper.
Jumped on & sailed it from Lymington to Eastbourne.

It's the truth ! Promise. Mad as a hatter !

I had been to the boat show.
I did know which boat I wanted.
I had researched the boat & prices.

I just didn't occur to me to research purchasing protocols.
I was green.
Ignorance is bliss !

As I said I got VERY lucky.

Please nobody try this at home. Always have an adult with you.

Learned a lot since finding this place.

It gets worse.

I once bought a house before finishing the only viewing !

"I'll take it", I says to the estate agent.

"You can't do that", she says. "It's not like buying groceries you know. You have to think about it for a while".

So I looks at her for a few seconds. "I'll take it", I says.

I did as well. No survey. Nothing.
Got lucky that time as well !

Sometimes if it feels right it is right.

Both of my boats bought on this basis, while standing on the hard.

No survey, no sea trial, no starty engine.

The first because I didn't know any better. The second because it was love at first sight.

No complaints with the technique so far...

yea, me too. 2nd boat, had a look at it, yep ok ,paid.
None of this woosy stuff.All was fine

I too have bought 2 boat's without a sea trial. OK so they were under £40k Sterling so no biggie.

Fingers crossed the 2 of them are still floating and in use every weekend with absolutily no problems

However next boat I reckon will need a survey/sea trial
