Has anyone encountered similiar problems.
I have a jabsco manual toilet that does not want to pump when on dry bowl, when selected into the holding tank.

The pressure build up seems so great that the handle is forced back upwards. If I then select out to sea it works fine.

I have already replaced the whole pump unit 2 months ago. I have this weekend cleaned the whole pipe from toilet to holding tank in case it was blocked (nice job) and still it persists.

I have removed the pump out cap in case it was not breathing properley, and then tried pumping and it still seems under pressure.

What next can I check, it's got me beat. Help!!

normally, at the tank end, there are valves allowing the whol of that tank to be isolated (for if urgh it needs taking out) so they need to be open, otherwise you're trying to ram the poo down a closed pipe.

PM Haydn tomorrrow!....he's our resident Latrines expert, even his nickname "The Bog Bomber" shows the quality of his experience.......why tomorrow, well tonight he will have been to the pub, and unfortunate things have been known to happen after this time - lets just call it the witching hour and leave it at that!

A friend had exactly the same problem. The switch on the Jabsco manual is set to the left to introduce flushing water and to the right to empty the bowl. A) make sure the flushing water sea-cock is open, B) when emptying, make sure the switch really is hard over to the right - even a fraction of an inch off will produce the handle bouncing symptoms you describe. Good luck

Eeerrrr!!! are you sure you really want to hear this. I can give you the low down. BUT. Everyone here has perswaded me. that. you really do not want, in all seriouslousoughity
( Been to the pub). To go down this direction. Look Up. "The exploding toilet" But it's not there anymore. Cos to long ago, and before this place got a new coat of white wash!!! I treat my bog now. With the greatest of respect. After this incident. And address it. On first meeting. After a delay of a week or two. With great hommage. (It has a greater power than me) And it bloody well proved it!! And left me cawuring ( Ha Ha Bet you cant understand that word . Can You)!!
But beware. It will get you in the end, yes it will, It'll get you in the end oh ye,Oh ye, ye ye. Theres a song there some where over a rainbow, way up high!! I'll shut up. Before this thing gets back to the real. EXPLODING TOILET!!!!!

No one can force me to come here-----------

For the toilet to not pump to the holding tank, yet OK when the valve is turned to overboard, you must have a blockage in the system from the toilet to the holding tan k, I know youve checked it! Empty the holding tank. Disconnect the hose from the toilet, put the valve in direction holding tank, use a dinghy pump, with some cloth wrapped around the end to form a seal in the end of the pipe, pump SLOWLY does the air go into the holding tank? if so then the pie and valve are OK, if not, theres a blockage somewhere, one thing, before you disconnect the pipe, does the water go to the holding tank, when the valve is in the flush position? If it does, theres no blockage and the valve block on top of the toilet is faulty, this happened to me. After that, I'm stumped

Take Care! Removing Outer cap

If the breather is blocked then you might have a nice build up of gas waiting to blow slurry out, and up your nose. In this situation play safe, and get SWMBO to open the cap, otherwise just crack it a little bit at a time.

Through difficulties to the bar (IMHO / FWIW / NWGOI)
