Further to the recent 'Sea Start' thread
Me an me Mate Ian do a bit of mending of boats an stuff
We were thinking about a Sea Start type thing Oop North

Now I know there aint the same volume of vessels Oop North
An folks are a bit skint (cos its hard up here compared to the southern jessie's like)
An we tend to fix things ourselves etc , as per Rushie;)

See me Plan is
Get a fishy type licence as well

See, yer gorra think out the box these days

If I lob loads of lobster an crab pots all over the Parish.
Well?
Could lead to more bis innit!
And nice stuff for tea!

Yeh I can just picture the web adrress
www.kaniseastartanseafood.com
Whad er reckon folks!;)

For some reason that took me back donkeys years

The scene HMS Lochinvar Firth of Forth

Me sweating my nuts off trying to hand start a 16' viking launch

Audience of amused matleots

Eventually one calls down "There's a better way to start that"

Turning to him gratefully I inquired what that way might be

"Stick it in gear, jump out and push start it" cried the naval wit

And I went back to cranking!

[QUOTE

There are certain boats it might be worth just following . . .[/QUOTE]

Yoh Rushie!
Yerv just given Me another idea
Peeps could follow me 'dodgy guide to the Swellies'
More biz ;)

I'm not sure Sea Start would want a franchise whose whole ethic was to cause the breakdown in the in the first place! :) Though Kwackers could run a very good real franchise if he wanted, if the economy of the region warranted it - without the enforced breakdowns!

Come-on Andy & Brendan,

the last thing N Wales needs is some reality - there's far too much of that around already!

Kwaka
I could offer oil & filter changes at low cost & leave the old filter seal in as well as the new one. This would cause the engine to work fine until full throttle is engaged when the seals displace & dump all the oil into the bilges. Then you could rescue them on call out.

Please don't ask why I know how this works. (Thanks to the Moody Detente for rescueing me last year)

Well, I couldn't post an altogether totally serious post could I!;)

BUT
We have discussed a sort of on water repair/ rescue service.
Just tother day
So we have been watching the real 'Sea Start' thread with interest.
As most know, I spend quite a bit of time on the water around our area.
Me mate does too
Just that fact means we bump into, metaphorically speaking, vessels that have probs.
Which began the discussion.
Whether there is enough volume of boats that ply the area to make a Business work.
That is the question.
We are not thinking of a Franchise
Contracting peeps like Divers or other types who can provide a service we couldn't is also 'under discussion'.
Blimey, that'l do for now, getting all serious! :)

Kwacka to the rescue....

I can just see Kwacka now, heading out in the sleat, blowing 40 knots, middle of the night with a head torch on.
As the RIB comes alongside the stricken vessel, the rescued crew notice a small wooden barrel around Kwacka's neck, resembling that of the Saint Bernard dogs of years gone by.
Out of the bottom of the whiskey barrel was a plastic tube that fed directly into his mouth. The curious crew, although being very grateful to be rescued had to ask the question......why?

Kwacka explained, "just keeping up with the times, experimenting with direct-injection" :D

I know......don't let the door hit me on the bum on the way out.
