As already said, I've owned my 315 since new in 2004. Plus points good build quality (for a US boat), superb accommodation for that size boat, good seakeeping and great on fuel. The main problem has been corrosion of the windscreen surround, probably down to the reaction between the stainless camel backs and the alloy windscreen surround.

I looked at several older Searays a few years ago and the thing that put me off was all the corrosion on the windscreens and deck fittings etc... doesn't sound like they've improved that then.
Hi, was for buying a 315 and nothing else until I saw an S28. S28 Much roomier in the cabin and the seperate midships is good too. less canopy to worry about putting up (and down, and up, and down) in our wonderful climate. And - very important - a real fridge in the cockpit instead of just a cupboard with a polystyrene box as in the 315! I have seen this particular SeaRay tho when BJ had it in Malahide. Its a new boat but 07 model I believe, possibly their demo boat and they brought it 'up north' out of the euro zone to see if they could shift it recently. We were told they will accept "any reasonable offer" for it......
We also have a 315 with KAD44 plus a bow thruster which is a nice safety net to have in tight marinas!
We also looked at the S28 but they mostly seem to have twin engines which significantly up the maintaining and running costs plus.
With a young child we really like the dinette. You do give up the door to the aft berth of the S28 but the extra flexibility the dinette gives you out weighed this for us.
As already said, good build quality, superb accommodation for that size boat, good seakeeping and great on fuel. We also had the windscreen surround corrosion but we had it re-sprayed and an isolation paste/compound used when the saddle back fittings were re-installed and no problems since.
All other fixtures and fittings are still as good as new and ours is a 2003 boat.
