Sea ray 250 sun dancer

From what I have seen of this particular model, they appear to be a popular choice.

Still trailable if you are keen, and have a suitable vehicle.

Of course, a close look at the machinery.......

No immediate experience of a Sundancer 250 but I'm an enthusiastic Sea Ray owner. As a rule, they're well-built with more seakindly hulls than some of their counterparts. The trade-off is that they won't hit the maximum speed numbers of something with a flatter bottom and may not be quite so roomy down below.

There were some issues with the balsa core construction techniques that Sea Ray used to use in the manufacturing process but I think that, by the mid nineties, this had been resolved. Look for stress cracks, evidence of a hard life, leaks at the join between the hull and deck mouldings etc. as you would with any boat of a similar age.

Which leaves the mechanicals, as others have said. Most of them will be starting to feel their age in a 10-15 year old boat, so maintenance and service history will be important .....
