Sea Ranger 1200 Hand Held VHF Battery

This old handheld VHF is also known as Stingray or Plastimar. I have searched a replacement battery without luck. I have opened up the battery pack and there are 6 Ni Cad batteries connected in series. Where can I get replacements ?

E bay (China) will get you a range of NiMH batteries in tag style that can be soldered together or without tags that fit into a battery holder. I imagine you will want the tag type. Possibly AA sized however Sub C is the name of the size used in electric drills though often also used are 4/5SubC a shorter version so check the dimensiosn before you buy. good luck olewill

Try CPC. You did not say what the size was but here is AA. They do all the sizes.

Thank you team, there are 11 cells each 30mmx25mm. It looks like a good soldering job when I get the tagged batteries, perhaps it is

cheaper to buy a S/H VHF !!
