Have just purchased a Starley Marine Sea Nymph 17'6 Cabin Cruiser. Does anyone know whether the firm is still in existence. What is the best size outboard to use on this boat in the Solent? Is there a Sea Nymph Owner's Club?

I think Starly have fallen by the wayside, but I have a feeling that someone else is using the moulds as I have seen very similar craft advertised new in sea fishing magazines.
Engine wise, as its a none planeing hull with a max hull speed of around 5kts anything from 5hp up to 10hp will be ideal. Personaly I would go for something about 7 to 8hp with enough shove to get you through the Solent chop.
