Sea miles:YBW forum posts Ratio

The more someone posts here in this thread, the worse their ratio becomes /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The less someone posts, the more you should take notice of their views:

0 posts is amazing, but no views yet, therefore the best must logically be someone with only 1 post - let us sit around and await all the trolls who come along and post - as their advice must be good /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

but I like the idea... one extra factor - posts made from the vessel while under way count half - less dilution...

Should this be a relevant factor in considering forum advice?

Definitely if it's passage planning or pilotage advice IMO. Over the 5 years or so that I've been hereabouts there are perhaps a couple of dozen who I would take seriously, and rather more that I would take with a complete pinch of salt

Different when it comes to technical advice when sea miles don't count at all obviously. Having said that, there are still only a few from whom I would take advice seriously

As for number of posts, there are some who cannot resist the urge to post on subjects which are clearly beyond them - but that's the internet for you!

All in all it seems to work ok and my current Portsmouth Ratio is 1.56 so really must do better in future

REALLY?. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. And heres me thinking it was incurable and ashamed to show it to my GP. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I swing both ways. I've just got a mast and boom from Nosy and a sail from eBay and today I'm going to collect the main hull for my trimaran project. So you won't know which way to turn.
Anyway, mooring buoys and pillocks etc etc are the same whatever boat you're stood on.
