Hi all, recent posts have highlighted the high cost of sea fire extinguishers and service costs / timescales. I see there is another ‘clean gas‘ system from fire shield sold by force 4 amongst others which is considerably cheaper, on the face of things I can’t see why we should be paying such a premium by retaining sea fire. Your thoughts appreciated

insert a link, I only see sea-fire, and any of those at force 4 would not suit my engine room.
i think the largest they sell is for 4.2 cu meters, and my sea=fire is 14.8 cu m.
it is a big cost but gives 10 year life span (i think).

sorry was firebliz at F4 and fire shield with another Website, links below

i think @petem could be right but for smaller craft full shutdown may not be such a high consideration?

Fireblitz Automatic FE-36 Fire Extinguisher | Force 4 Chandlery

FireShield 2Kg Automatic Clean Agent Fire Extinguisher | 2 Kilogram Auto Halon Replacement FX2000GA

Well I have one of the F4 Fireblitz in my engine compartment. It looks very nice there. Of course I have no idea how well it works and hope not to find out.
