I'm here in the USA reading another of AC Stock's books. Can anybody tell me where I can download a good map/chart of the Thames estuary so I can follow his cruises. This is strictly for armchair navigation so it doesn't have to be but so good. Thanks.

Thank you for the help. I was glad to see Mr. Stock & Shoal Waters are alive & well. When I started sailing, 25 years ago, I was going to take on the watery parts of the world. I bought Favona & have sailed & loved her for most of those years. More recently, I have acquired a Westerly Pageant with which to play on the Chesapeake Bay. Mr. Stock's sailing the Thames Estuary sounds like what I'd like to do on the Chesapeake. I guess it's the years catching up with me, but I used to want to be Chichester, now I want to be Stock when I grow up.

Also very interesting series of video's in the YBW Video forum by Nathan Lee on, so far, St Kats to the Deben. On the YBW East Coast Forum you'll find lots of Thames Estuary cruising stuff. The main writer (IMO) about cruising these waters is Maurice Griffiths, if you haven't read "Magic of The Swatchways" you're in for a treat.
