I recall seeing something a couple of months back about a crossing sometime in September. Can't seem to find anything by search. Was I dreaming.....or has a date been identified?

I believe the weekend of 22/23rd Sept was mentioned ...
I'm hoping to bring my own vessel across this year (probably get relegated to the tender though - but it can do 12 knots ... so that's a 6hr crossing 4 me! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

22nd/23rd is the date in my diary, with some peeps crossing over earlier for a side trip to St Vaast.

There was a similar problem with SBS last year but it can't be avoided. RORC Channel race is 8th/9th (I think), which means we can't use the Cherbourg Yacht Club for dinner if we go the same weekend. Therefore we're left with 15th/16th or 22nd/23rd, and the preference is always for a neapy weekend....

Or that's how I understand it.

Thanks to all....it's in my diary....was in Cherbourg last weekend, nice and quiet....lots of new pontoons going in but unfortunately not the visitors berths.

Enjoyed last year , what a great crowd.

Boat booked for 21/22 & 23. Weekend pass approved and authorised by SWMBO. 4 crew already signed up.

Intend to go to St Vaast overnight on the Thursday as for us slower types it makes a more relaxed weekend.

I assume these threads will be transferred to Cherbourg 2007 forum soon by Kim etc.

Anyone got the tide tables with them - what time is Dover HW for these dates?

I'm hoping to make this trip my first skipper across the channel /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

that weekend has been bad for me for the last couple of years cos of the annual university taxi service .. any chance of moving it cos I suspect I will be engaged in the said taxi run for the next 7 years!
