Where do I begin? What a fantastic weekend. Thanks very much to Spyro for his organisational skills and super quizzes. Thanks to everybody else for making the event such a success:)
We had two good days sail in among as well, with only a little rain this morning - coincidentally while I was on watch:(, and my crew was cooking breakfast:)

Seconded!

Thanks!...Pete & Ian for a friendly welcome and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Sorry we couldn't make it to Tarbert due to our club Muster at Largs...but looking forward to next seasons events.
Also just a couple of photos of the Clyde Scuttlebutt Fleet!

One of the best yet I think, well done to Ian and Pete, and thanks to the Cumbrae centre for having us again.
Great to meet you all, dont think I got any pics, only some videos of the band in Tarbert.
Some very exciting pubs in Tarbert!!!!!!! and some very interesting guys!!!!!!!!!
One of our group, Options skipper, Bob, went in the briny at Millport moorings but was recovered quite quickly, "Must not have been his wk end".
Look forward to the next one.
Here is a copy of the poem I had composed with intentions of reciting at the CWC but never got around to doing it.

It was a good one.
Friday night in the Cumbrae watersports centre was most enjoyable... although I am still waiting for a rendition of Fiddlers Green. Perhaps that's an excuse for a winter get-together for some rehearsal.
Tarbert made a weekend not to be forgotten for a long time to come, especially the local wildlife.
The sail home made up for lumpy conditions on the Saturday... we had wind all the way to the mooring with most of the trip at hull-speed.
We heard some VHF pan-pan chatter involving Options but only got the CG side... I took it that Options was helping a bust mobo into Largs; was this before or after Bob's dunking?
Thanks for the company, all.
Barnacle Bill sends thanks, 'though he has been renamed Roger.

Sorry I couldn't make this one, but please feel free to invite us for the season opener.

Did you have the midnight curry delivered from Millport again?

Thanks to everyone who attended and made this one to remember. Thanks to the first and second teams in the quiz not wishing to receive their prize money we managed to raise £35 wich was donated to the RNLI on the night.
The sail to Tarbert on Saturday was a struggle and felt like we were never getting there. Every turn we made the wind and tide seemed to be against us. Lesson learned, if the weather and tide looks in your favour leave when it is an don't wait. However having said that A great night was had in tarbet and a very profitable one for Tarbert harbour judging by the amout of boats in the marina. We enjoyed some excellent music and company in Tarbert.
Eamonn, hope you managed to find the delete button on your camera;)
Had a cracking sail back to Ardrossan on Sunday by the time we arrived we had 2 reefs in the main, taking just over 4 hours meant an average 6 knots even managed to get some sunburn from earlier in the day.
Looking forward to next season

Glad you all had a great time. Sorry to have missed it but at least you would not have had the east wind which Miss Sable and I always seem to bring to Cumbrae Centre.

Pity the Troon boats had to leave the company, although a similar sesh was enjoyed by them in a parallel universe!
Nice to see everyone on Friday. Sorry for no Sunday participation, we decided to get back to cosy Troon before the new, updated version of the weather forecast kicked in.

Fantastic Poem Eamonn

Fantastic poem Eamonn ...if we all decide to expand the evenings repertoire to include humorous speeches and poetry etc...then I have a couple of popular monologues which might go down well.
Just one request / aka consideration...for a bar stool, small amp & mic for the performer & I'll start, fill or end....whatever is best!?

Can I add my thanks to everyone for their great company on Friday night - sorry that we couldn't stay for any more of the weekend.

No-one's admitted that the quizz was won by a young team who were course attendees rather than s/butters.

A poor quality pic of the winning team

Ian,

Thanks your organising skills and your forbearance at being asjked to repeat question 14 a dozen times! It was great to meet everyone again although I didn't get to talk to many of you as my mouth was full of squeeking harmonica as I tried to figure out which key Bill and John were playing in !! Special thanks to Gordon for his hospitality on Flap afterwards and for the floorshow on how to smash a thermos in two easy shakes when its full of ice - I'm still picking bits of glass out of my teeth after that whisky;-)

Sorry we didn't get to Tarbert on the Saturday but we did manage to catch you at Inchmarnock having given you an hours head start!! Due to one of my crew turning green and the other two, more shapely members. grumbling about the conditions and the time to get to Tarbert we opted for the Kames hotel where we met up with a couple sailing the Chivas Brothers' Sadler 34 - it seems Pernod Ricard kept one of about 6 boats they once owned and there is a club of about 20 Chivas employees and associates who sail her - sounds like a cheap way of keeping a boat, although how they fit 20 people in a 34's cockpit I'll never understand.

Once we'd turned the corner in behind Inchmarnock we had the wind on our beam and at half reefed sails we managed over 7knots on the way to Kames. This made up a bit for the lumpy ride to Inchmarnock.

Gordon, where were you when Ian , Eamonn and myself gave a rendition of Fiddlers Green just before we left the bar?

It was also great to get a tour round the gas guzzling wee sister of Negresco and thanks to John and Cathy on Beeswing for not complaining too much when I took the dog for a walk at 7a.m. on Saturday. It was great to tie in with my club mates from TCC - I don't get down there too much these days.

Thanks Tom but it wasn't just my organizing, I think it was Eamonn who first suggested it sometime ago and I suggested the Tarbert weekend also thanks to Pete he had a hand in the Water sports centre bit however I do take full resposibility for the quiz, good or bad.
As for the cryptic film stars have you got them all yet?
You did catch us at Ichmarnock, although we left a good while before you we waited about a mile south for Pete to depart, when Pete says 15 mins think nearer an hour :):):). then we took the scenic route round the bottom of Wee Cumbrae ( a bad idea).
It wasn't too late an arrival in Tarbert at least it kept us off the booze for a bit.

I can't quite remember Fiddlers Green, was it passable :confused:
