Just a wee post on this so that I can claim that I organised it!
We will rendezvous in Cumbraes Water Sports Centre on Friday the 18th of September. I think that Spyro is doing a quiz which will be fun. On the Saturday, weather permitting, we will cruise to Tarbert and enjoy the music festival. Sunday, back home - I will be returning to Kip via the Kyles, and possibly lunch at Caldh Harbour. If we do then anybody who cares to raft up with us there would be welcome.

If anybody wants to come along but is boatless, or hasn't a boat in the area, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Well it all sounds like fun to me, so who is joining us this time?

I will not be there as off sailing in sunnier climes. Got an offer I could not refuse.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

So it looks like I'm guaranteed to win the quiz, being the only one there on Friday, and me and Aquaplane having a cosy night out on Saturday!
I know we've got:
Spyro
Clyde_Wanderer
AntarcticPilot
Aquaplane(Saturday)

Anybody else?

A clash of diaries!!! It's our closing muster that weekend, however it is at Largs, so if we go up a day early we can win the quiz and then show off the prize to our clubmates.
If the weather is good we will be there on Friday. Looking forward to seeing you all again.
Will possibly manage the Kyles on Sunday as well.

This is going to be the quietest S'Butt Cruise yet!!!!!
So far we have possibly 4 boats, and no visitors from afar.
I'm still in with a chance of winning the quiz then!

Spyro's west coast trip

Ian,

Where did you get to this summer on your cruise - we didn't make it out of the Clyde even though we had two goes at it.. It seems that when my wife is ready to go on the boat for a holiday it is the middle of July where the bl--dy gales start to blow again. Gordon has just come back from a week in the Clyde on Flap and didn't make it to Sanda due to severe gales.

However, I did manage a trip from Holland to France in June on a Malo 36 - see http://sites.google.com/site/orustenvoyage/home - for the website I created about our trip.

Similar story. Had a couple of cruises around the Clyde/Lochfyne/Kyles second one at the beginning of August we had planned to go out west but due to the forecast for winds up to 50mph around Islay made us stay within fairly sheltered waters. We had a couple of days with very strong south or south easterlies worst was the Friday night of 31st July going up Loch Fyne about 8.30 at night, torential rain with the wind up our arse almost touching forty knots. We surfed almost right intoTarbert Harbour. Out of the 6 days It rained most days apart from the afternoon we spent in Lochranza with beautiful sunshine.
I'm heading up to Colitraive Hotel a week on Saturday. Euroyachts are holding a Jeanneau Fun race from Largs to Colintraive with a reception and prizegiving in the hotel. I think we may head for the Millport C&W festival on the Sat night.
Hope to see you at the Cumbrae meet up.

Sorry to miss this but we get back into Southampton that morning and hope to visit the SIBS during the day. I doubt if even my driving would get us back in time for the quiz. Actually we will probably not be back till Saturday afternoon and I think will be busy unpacking. I hope you all find berths in Tarbert. I have yet to see how the new arrangement will cope with an overload of visitors. The only benefit of the old set-up was that people could raft up to a ridiculous degree so capacity seemed unlimited. Until someones lines broke!

Like several others, we had a poor season as we missed the "good" bit in late June/early July. Mind you I seem to remember a bit of strong wind. Still, there is always next year. When is the Scuttlebut spring rally again?
