1500 bmc engine removed from my colvic sailer 29.6" by previous owner, I am refitting a reconditioned volvo penta md11c engine. My problem is the prop on the boat is a 15" right hand on a 30mm shaft, The prop with the md11c engine is a 13" left hand to fit a 25mm shaft What do i do.

A machine shop should be able to turn out the prop that's with the engine, to fit the existing shaft. Had it done several times in the past. Not to say that the prop will suit your boat exactly, that's another question.

Did the BMC have a 1:1 gear box or was it a reduction gearbox? How does it compare to the MD11C? I also had a RH prop on my BMC 1.5 and when I re-engined I had to have a new RH prop as the gearbox was a reduction type.
Assuming the LH prop with the MD11C came with the engine, then get it bored out to suit the 30mm shaft, but don't forget that the coupling may have to be altered as well( or get a new coupling)
If the 13" prop appears OK on test and gets up to almost full revs when flat out then it's OK - but if not you'll have to get a 15" prop. Talk to the prop people who should be able to help.

I have a left hand 2 bladed prop available, which was driving a 31' sloop via an MDIIB engine. It has enough meat on it to be re-machined for a 30mm shaft.

PM me with your details and I will look at the mesurements tonight - yours for a few beer vouchers if it's what you want.
