Hi there,

I believe Yamaha and a few other manufacturers supply an adapter to flush the outboard - you screw it into the engine and attach to a hose.

I've seen something similar on eBay but it was a lot of money - does anyone know where I could get one of these from at sensible money - it's only a threaded bolt with a hole through it after all!

one of these?

available at most DIY shops for a couple of quid.. eg

Homebase

My mariner 4
and tohatsu 9.8

both use the same fitting, cost £0.50p

3 inch length of rubber fuel hose from motorcycle/outboard shop just screws into flush hole, then electrical tape round fuel hose until any old hose pipe fits it, then jubilee clip to secure.

If it is as big as the one above looks I would just screw the hose straight into the hole, may need a bit of tape round it ?

Have you tried Yamaha?
I bought the Suzuki version from local dealer for £2.50 then attached some garden hose
