Does anyone know where to get some small diameter flexible duct and connectors? I need something in the region of 30mm ID and heat resistant. I have just installed a diesel heater, and want to run a screen duct, but there is insufficient void for the standard 80 or 55mm duct behind the dash etc.

Has anyone else made a custom duct before? any help greatly appreciated.

Try Flexi hose Tel 01204 795735
I have used them a few years ago seem to recolect them doing all manner of hoses
Good luck Ian

Try a flexible washing machine waste pipe....Focus, B&Q etc. Should be heat resistant up to abt 60oC..you can even get joiners for it.

Alternatively your local electrical wholesaler will stock flexible convoluted metal conduit at abt 25mm dia.

Re: Screen de-mist another thought..

Try also Caravan waste pipe...slightly wider and may be nearer your 30mm,
available from your local camping and caravanning emporium...dunno if it's heat resistant, but It'll be cheap enough to experiment with anyway.

Re: Screen de-mist another thought..

No, I play Guitar and KB in a Rock Covers band....only problem is our lead vocalist
who is a girl, strangely enough has another hobby of being in the TA and she is currently on a six month stint in Iraq of all places...so the rest of us in the band are basically kicking our heels at the moment.
Mind you...SWMBO often accuses me of "collecting" guitars, I have six in total scattered around the place plus some keyboards.
My excuse is I like to keep some in different tunings!!
I had to promise to give up spending on musical instruments in order to buy the boat last year as well as letting her have the spare bedroom back as a guest bedroom instead of my studio. Really!! the sacrifices we blokes have to make, just to pursue our dreams it's outrageous ....dunno wot this has to do with screen demisters or washing machine outlets but there you go its probably just about as interesting.

Why not try making a normal hose flatter using a wooden former inside so as to shape the the spiral wind properly?? Just a thought, although I am sure there has to be a supplier somewhere with hose of this shape.
